Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and this site has no way to receive your file.

Can I check for myself that nothing is uploaded?

Yes. Open this page, then disconnect from the internet. With the connection off, you can still choose a file and save the result.

For the first few seconds after the page opens, it is still fetching the parts it needs, so wait a moment before disconnecting. Reloading the page needs the connection again.

Note that opening a PDF that does not embed its fonts fetches the character tables needed to show the text, which needs a connection — common with Japanese PDFs. If you have a data-saving setting turned on, nothing is fetched ahead of time either, so a connection is needed then too.

PNG or JPEG?

PNG for documents — nothing is lost, so thin lines and small text stay sharp.JPEG for photographs — it looks much the same and the files are far smaller. WebP is smaller still, but older software may not open it.

Which resolution should I choose?

150dpi is plenty for the screen. 300dpi for printing. 600dpi is for zooming in on fine detail. Higher numbers take longer and produce larger files.

I raised the resolution but the images are not much bigger

There is a cap of 40 megapixels per image. Beyond that, the browser can fail to draw the page at all. When the cap applies, the tool says so and shows the actual pixel size.

Japanese text is missing

It should not be. The character tables needed for PDFs that do not embed their fonts are bundled with this tool. If text is still missing, the PDF itself is built unusually.

How large a PDF can I use?

Up to 200MB and 1000 pages. Exporting hundreds of pages at a high resolution may still run out of memory on your device — split the job or lower the resolution if that happens.

Can I turn images back into a PDF?

Yes — use Image to PDF.

I only need one page

Press "First page only", or type the page number. To keep it as a PDF instead, use Extract PDF Pages.

How much can I use for free? Are there limits?

Every feature, as many times as you like. There is no daily cap, nothing changes if you sign up, and you will never be asked to pay later.

There is a limit on file size, but it comes from what a browser can handle at once. The work runs on your own device, so there is nothing for us to meter. The exact figures are in the other answers on this page.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. Please keep the following in mind.
